The market for fractional-ownership residences at ski resorts continues to flourish, and one of the most desirable new entries is the Hyatt Grand Aspen, which opened downtown, at the base of Aspen Mountain, in December 2005. With its redbrick exterior and slate roof, the Grand Aspen blends in well with the architecture of the historic Colorado town. Its fifty units, which can be rented by nonowners, have from one to four bedrooms and include balconies and fireplaces. Families will love the suites, which boast oak floors, comfortable furnishings in warm tones, flat-screen TVs, Viking kitchens and bathrooms with steam showers. After a day of skiing, you can stop in the cozy wine bar or soothe your muscles in one of the two hot tubs. There is no restaurant, but a light breakfast is served daily, refrigerators can be stocked beforehand for guests, and the city's finest eateries are a short walk away. Rooms from $575. Ownership fractions from $100,000. 415 E. Dean St.; 800-464-9288; hyattaspen.com.
