In Costa Careyes, an exclusive enclave on Mexico's Pacific coast, there are many memorable houses to rent, but one of the most spectacular is the recently finished Casa Triton. Set on six acres, the three-bedroom villa sprawls along oceanfront cliffs. Each of the rooms is a freestanding structure, and many are open on three sides; they are connected by gardens and a meandering infinity-edged pool. A staff of nine, including a gourmet chef, tends to guests and can arrange for such activities as fishing, horseback riding, tennis and snorkeling. If you wander down to the beachfront restaurant for lunch, you may bump into model Heidi Klum and her husband, the singer Seal, who have a house nearby. $3,000 per day in winter, with a three-day minimum; large groups may also rent Casa Maoritze, an adjacent three-bedroom house, casatriton.com.
