A rejuvenating week at a destination spa could compel anyone to fantasize about living there full-time. Now you can. Two top Tucson, Arizona–based resort companies are leading the way in what is sure to be a growing trend: urban spa residences. Miraval Resort is putting the finishing touches on Miraval Living, a 365-unit building on New York's Upper East Side, and this spring marks the opening of Canyon Ranch Living–Miami Beach, 425 condominiums within the brand's beachfront resort complex.

In addition to spas, both facilities have swimming pools, rock-climbing walls and a staff of nutritionists and fitness professionals. "Spa communities are a logical answer for busy people wanting a wellness-focused lifestyle," says International Spa Association president Lynne Walker McNees.

Buyers agree: Canyon Ranch is about 80 percent sold out, and another one of its developments is under way in Chicago.
